Job Summary
Maintain product levels and quality control in the grocery department by stocking display racks, rotating dated items, and inspecting merchandise for safety standards. Operate a pallet jack to unload trucks and reload return items, ensuring proper disposal of unsold goods and collection of trash. Assist customers with price checks and product location while promoting sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Greet shoppers, answer questions, and address complaints with a friendly, service-oriented attitude. Adhere to all safety procedures, clean the work environment, and report potential hazards to a supervisor. Partners must be at least 18 years old, with equipment operation requiring 18+ and driving requiring 21+. Flexible schedules include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Minimum of 18 years of age to operate equipment
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects gently to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Continuously required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Continuously required to bend, kneel or squat
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl
- Attendance at work is required
