Job Summary
The Grocery Manager will direct and manage all facets of the grocery department, focusing on achieving sales and profit goals, supervising and training personnel, and maintaining effective employee relations. Key responsibilities include ordering and allocating merchandise, conducting pricing audits, overseeing stock levels, and ensuring maintenance within the grocery department. Candidates must have strong communication skills and substantial experience in the supermarket industry.
Required Qualifications
- High school education required
- At least three years experience working in the supermarket industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and gross margins
- Ability to verify vendor invoices and complete required accounting reports
- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
- Ability to retrieve and place merchandise on top racks
- Must be able to stand upright for most of the scheduled work shift
