Job Summary
The Grocery Manager is responsible for directing and managing all facets of the grocery department to achieve maximum sales, productivity, and profits. This role includes supervising, training, and scheduling grocery department personnel, ensuring accurate ordering and pricing of products, and maintaining stock levels. The manager is also tasked with overseeing the 3rd shift operations, enforcing company policies, and providing customer service. Candidates should possess a high school diploma with three years of supermarket experience and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school education required
- At least three years experience in the supermarket industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to calculate discounts, gross margins, and other figures
- Ability to verify vendor invoices and complete accounting reports
- Capability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
- Ability to retrieve and place merchandise on top racks
- Ability to stand for most of scheduled work shift
