Job Summary
Directs and assists in operating the Grocery Department under supervision of the Assistant Store Director, including supervising and training personnel; oversees ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising; may act as backup cashier; responsible for cash handling and daily revenue documentation; opens/closes the store; ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, security policies; leads in customer service initiatives, employee supervision, and merchandising policy execution; requires extensive retail management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive retail management experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to manage and develop people
- Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices policies
- Ability to operate and train others on front end cash registers and scanning equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Physical ability to lift up to ~80 lbs and climb ladders
- Ability to work at different times of the day, weekends and holidays
