Job Summary
Grocery Manager leads department sales and profits, supervises department personnel, maintains product levels and quality, ensures displays meet Brookshire Grocery Company standards and food-safety practices, drives customer service and sales growth, and oversees interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of partners. Responsibilities include reviewing historical data to project sales from ads/promotions, managing inventory and in-stock levels, analyzing profit/loss and labor data, ensuring product freshness and rotation, leading suggestive selling and merchandising efforts, ensuring safety and sanitary standards, and maintaining a presentable store environment. Requires strong knowledge of grocery operations, inventory systems, scheduling software, and the ability to lead and motivate a team, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; relevant certifications and age requirements are specified.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED required
- two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required
- Food Handler certification required
- Manager Food Safety certification required
- AML certification required
- Fuel Operator C training required
- HIPAA certification required
- TABC/LACT/AATC certification required where applicable
