Job Summary
Direct and control the operation of the Grocery Department, including supervising and training personnel to achieve departmental and store sales and profit objectives. Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations of the Grocery department, including dairy and frozen food sections, while conducting daily inspections to ensure compliance with product quality, rotation, sanitation, and safety standards. Order grocery product, maintain inventory levels, and supervise receiving, storing, stocking, pricing, and merchandising of all Grocery products. Schedule associates to ensure adequate coverage and service levels, while directing, motivating, and participating in the hiring of all Grocery Department personnel. Monitor daily log sheets, purchase reports, and sales versus projected performance, and resolve customer and vendor relations. This role requires an extensive retail background with prior management experience and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional overnight travel and irregular hours may be required.

- ability to occasionally reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 50 lbs
- ability to occasionally push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks
- ability to cover for various positions throughout the store as required

- ability to occasionally be exposed to temperatures of approximately -20° Fahrenheit, 28° Fahrenheit, 35° Fahrenheit
- ability to occasionally be exposed to temperatures of up to 400° Fahrenheit
