Grocery Manager (61911)

Greet customers, answer inquiries, and explain store policies while making recommendations for hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of grocery department personnel. Orient and train new employees, then develop weekly labor schedules for store manager approval. Implement display plans for end-aisle merchandising and ad promotions while supervising product ordering and inventory management to minimize out-of-stocks. Oversee backroom operations including receiving merchandise, checking loads, sorting cases, stocking shelves, and building displays. Perform cleaning duties for floors, lanes, carts, restrooms, and parking lots, and manage loading of stocking carts and pallets to the sales floor. Conduct inventory counts, perform manual price-marking, and move damaged products to the backroom. Work on tile or concrete for up to eight hours in duration, moving approximately 100 yards of merchandise.
