Job Summary
Manage Grocery Department operations by overseeing merchandising, scheduling, ordering, productivity, budgeting, inventory, gross profit, and reporting. Model and provide excellent customer service while supervising, coaching, and evaluating all department staff. Stock displays according to merchandising plans, handle price changes, and ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met. Participate in long and short-term planning and maintain organic integrity for the bulk department. Act as back-up to the Grocery Coordinator, covering the department during their absence. Requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, plus a Food Worker Card and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Must have a flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends
- Ordering and inventory management skills
- Strong merchandising skills
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem solving and communication skills
- Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
- Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting between 10-40lbs regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health
- A Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe)
- A CPR/First Aid Certification
