Job Summary
Grocery Lead at Meijer responsible for directing operations, processes, and conditions of their department. Plans, guides, and empowers team members in day-to-day operations, mentors and coaches staff to exceed customer service and sales goals, and leads scheduling to optimize team engagement, service, store sales, and profitability. Key duties include engaging peers to provide an exceptional checkout experience, assigning daily tasks, training and cross-training teammates, ensuring product freshness and adherence to food safety standards, overseeing ordering/receiving/stocking/pricing/display, and supporting Meijer’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. May act in Lead capacity in other departments; operates a register and handles cash when needed; participates in period-end inventories; and may use powered equipment. Strong emphasis on customer service, staff development, and adherence to company standards and policies, with a commitment to inclusive workplace practices. Located in Highland, IN (USA).
