Job Summary
Grocery Clerk (GMC) delivers G.O.A.T. service to customers and may be assigned to multiple departments. Responsibilities include front-end tasks (bagging, cart retrieval, assisting with the checkout process), stocking shelves, organizing displays, fulfilling ecommerce orders, and assisting with floral and fresh-cut produce preparation. Duties span various departments with duties adapting to store needs, including maintaining signage and pricing, keeping backrooms clean and safe, processing online orders, and delivering a positive customer experience. Requires a minimum age of 18, availability for evenings/weekends/holidays, and a high school diploma is preferred. Must have a valid Food Handler/Health Card, strong communication, math, and teamwork skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- A valid Food Handler / Health Card
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and service at all time
- Ability to work well within the team and follow direction with a good attitude
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and teammates
- Basic math and reading skills for handling pricing, labels, equipment, and inventory
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must maintain a sense of integrity and adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety standards and the collective bargaining agreement
