Job Summary
Provide helpful guest service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism. Stock and display aisles to ensure products are fresh, properly rotated, and fully stocked by designated times. Unload deliveries, organize stock, and maintain accurate inventory levels while collaborating with the Grocery Department Manager. Keep the department clean, sanitized, and tidy as needed. Address guest concerns with care and offer product suggestions or alternatives when appropriate. Operate equipment such as power jacks and forklifts under training. Work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- A helpful attitude and a commitment to excellent guest service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of safety requirements and policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety
- Ability to operate equipment such as power jacks, fork lift, walk-behind lifts, balers, and compactors
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a cooler
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Full range of upper body motion in order to lift product
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
