Job Summary
Provide helpful guest service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism. Stock and display aisles to ensure products are fresh, properly rotated, and fully stocked by designated times. Unload deliveries, organize stock, and maintain accurate inventory levels while keeping the department clean and sanitized. Assist guests in locating products on and off the sales floor, offering suggestions and alternatives when appropriate. Operate equipment such as power jacks and walk-behind lifts under safety protocols. Collaborate with the Grocery Department Manager and team to meet goals and maintain regular, timely attendance.
Required Qualifications
- A helpful attitude and a commitment to excellent guest service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of safety requirements and policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety
- Ability to operate equipment such as power jacks, fork lift, walk-behind lifts, balers, and compactors (training provided)
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a cooler
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Full range of upper body motion in order to lift product
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
