Job Summary
Stock aisles, unload deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory levels while ensuring products are fresh, in-date, and properly rotated. Provide helpful guest service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting shoppers in locating items on and off the sales floor. Keep the department clean, sanitized, and organized, and address product issues with professionalism. Work closely with the Grocery Department Manager to meet stocking goals and adhere to the part-time schedule, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Operate equipment such as power jacks and walk-behind lifts under safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A helpful attitude and a commitment to excellent guest service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of safety requirements and policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety
- Ability to operate equipment such as power jacks, fork lift, walk-behind lifts, balers, and compactors
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a cooler
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Full range of upper body motion in order to lift product
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store
- Ability to create attractive displays
- Ability to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
