Job Summary
Maintain product levels and quality control in the grocery department by stocking shelves, rotating dated items, and inspecting goods for safety standards. Operate pallet jacks to unload trucks and reload return items, collect trash into bailers, and scan items for accurate checkout totals. Provide customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, bagging groceries, and locating products. Keep the parking lot clean, manage shopping carts, and address safety hazards or incidents immediately. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- TABC/LACT/AATC certification where applicable
- Ability to memorize produce codes and tender policies and procedures
- Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jack
- Ability to count and calculate for the purpose of cash handling and sales transactions
- Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with customers and partners
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Frequently required to bend, kneel or squat
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Attendance at work is required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
