Job Summary
Provide world-class customer service as a top priority while merchandising shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays to create inviting, full, and shoppable departments. Assist the manager in ordering, maintaining accurate inventory, managing margins, COGs, and overall department profitability by minimizing shrink and maximizing purchasing. Handle register functions including backup cashiering, customer returns, complaints, and shift changes, while conducting active and passive demos. Support store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Reports and cash handling, and participate in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, and stocking. Train and monitor department personnel, address performance issues, and maintain safety and security. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a five-day, 40-hour schedule with mandatory store meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment
- natural foods background
- 1 year of experience supervising others
- Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance by keeping certifications up to date and registered if applicable
- Ability to manage changing priorities and to stay focused with the task at hand
- Possess a sense of urgency in the completion of tasks
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and follow through
- Must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
