Job Summary
Monitor machine operations to determine if adjustments are necessary and stop the machine when problems occur. Set up and operate centerless grinding machines to grind metal work pieces, placing finished items in boxes or racks while setting aside defective pieces. Select and mount grinding wheels according to specifications, perform basic maintenance like cleaning and lubricating, and replace worn machine parts. Compute numbers, widths, and angles of cutting tools using micrometers and gauges to produce specified cuts. Requires high school diploma, ability to read blueprints, and strong mechanical skills. Schedule is 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
