Job Summary
Operate electric or pneumatic hand grinders and heavy manufacturing equipment to clean pre-welded, welded, and steel parts. Utilize a 40lb magnetic drill to bore holes, lift material, and transfer parts to manufacturing departments. Assist with moving parts manually or via crane, perform cleanup, garbage removal, facility painting, and snow removal when requested. Change consumables, conduct safety inspections, and maintain organized work areas while adhering to all safety guidelines. Wear required PPE, participate in cross-training, and address safety concerns immediately. Work under the direction of the Production Leader and team lead. May work overtime as production needs require. 1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM; 2nd Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to understand English language and be understood
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate crane and/or forklift if trained and assigned
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to work cooperatively with management and co-workers
- Must be able to work cooperatively with coworkers including training and knowledge sharing
- Must be able to maintain clean and organized work area conditions and comply with safety requirements
- Must be able to perform work in a safe manner, complete all required safety inspections and adhere to safety rules and guidelines including safely operate crane and/or forklift if trained and assigned
- Must be able to maintain conformance with safety rules and regulations, if you are unclear of or uncomfortable with a safety process then you have an obligation to make your supervisor aware
- Must be able to immediately address safety related issues or concerns or make management aware
- Must be able to actively participate in cross training and continuous improvement assignments
- Must be able to learn new skills, techniques and equipment operation as assigned
- Must be able to work overtime as production needs require
- Must be able to utilize 5-8lbs electric or pneumatic hand grinders to clean pre-welded parts, welded parts, and steel parts
- Must be able to utilize a 40lbs magnetic drill to bore holes
- Must be able to lift material and parts
- Must be able to transfer and load parts to correct manufacturing department location
- Must be able to assist team members with moving and handling parts, manually or by crane use
- Must be able to perform other manual work including cleanup activities, garbage removal, facility painting, and snow removal
- Must be able to change consumables as needed and perform required safety inspections on equipment
- Must be able to receive direction from team lead and other designated leader
- Must be able to work in a well-lighted and well-ventilated area
- Must be able to be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to above normal noise levels, electrical equipment, and chemicals
- Must be able to perform activities in a manufacturing environment with no abnormal hazards or risks other than those listed herein
