Job Summary
Grinder/Chipper 1st shift — responsible for grinding and chipping metal workpieces to shape edges, remove defects, and ensure quality per job orders and blueprints. Operates grinders, uses a jib crane, inspects workpieces for defects, dresses and maintains grinding wheels, reads and follows detailed work instructions, and records counts. Requires precision, safety awareness, ability to read simple instructions, basic math, and lifting up to 50 lbs. OT may be required on a weekly basis; $5000 sign-on bonus offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months of related experience/training preferred.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and work orders.
- Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect material defects.
- Must regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
