Job Summary
Operate and maintain blender and grinder machines to produce hot dogs, cocktails, and sliced meats. Prepare production paperwork, retrieve schedules, and perform start-up checks for condensation and equipment damage. Execute Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, assemble grinders, test fat analyzers, and inspect product during processes. Document weights, ensure all guards are closed, and notify supervisors of any contaminants. Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene regulations, and manual requirements. Perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and work extended periods in a cold environment. Requires 6 months of machine operator experience and proficiency in reading blueprints and plant paperwork.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months work history with the same employer
- 6 months of machine operator or forklift experience
- Must be able to read and understand manuals, blue prints, plant paperwork, labels, etc.
- Proficiency in reading and writing
- ability to complete on-the-job paperwork
- ability to effectively communicate across all management levels
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be willing and able lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be willing and able to stand extended periods up to 8 hours
- Must be willing and able to work in a cold environment
- Must be willing and able to use manual dexterity for operating machinery and handling products
- Adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations is essential
