Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes including meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables using gas or charcoal grills while adhering to established recipes and plating guidelines. Operate grilling equipment with precise temperature control, portion orders accurately, and maintain strict food safety and sanitation protocols. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during peak hours, monitor food quality, and assist with inventory management. Clean and maintain grilling equipment, report maintenance needs, and learn cash register software. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays while meeting health regulations and certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Food safety knowledge, including familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices, along with an understanding of proper food storage, handling, and hygiene procedures
- Ability to follow sanitation protocols, including proper handwashing and appropriate glove use
- Strong knowledge of grill cooking techniques, including temperature control and timing
- Familiarity with various cuts of meat, seafood, and vegetables, and the ability to cook them to desired levels of doneness
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant POS – Aloha, Hot Schedule, Paylocity
- Must be at least eighteen years old
- Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Grill Cook or similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment
