Job Summary
Flex & Events Security Officer at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry in Downtown Chicago. Responsibilities include enforcing museum policies with a customer-service focus, maintaining clear logs at the front desk, controlling access for tenants/visitors/vendors, monitoring cameras, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and providing a visible security presence. Must be able to work all shifts in a high-visibility, physically demanding, public-facing environment; requires 18+ age, eligible for Illinois PERC, pass background/drug checks, and English proficiency. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work all shifts.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Able to acquire and maintain a valid Illinois PERC card.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Willingness to work all posts and flexible schedules.
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-lingual considered a plus
- Evening, overnight, and weekend availability preferred
- 7-8 years of security, customer service, or public-facing experience preferred
