Job Summary
Engineer coordinating all activities related to identification, design, development, construction and commissioning of grid infrastructure (transmission lines and electrical substations) to connect PV and BESS projects. Will liaise with Transmission and Distribution System Operators, external engineering firms, development partners, advisors and consultants, and coordinate with legal, business, technical development, engineering, construction and operation teams. Responsible for tracking project status, reporting to management, evaluating risks and suggesting mitigations, allocating resources, resolving conflicts, and managing multiple projects simultaneously in collaboration with teams based in Italy and Spain. Key responsibilities include assessment of HV/MV grid connection solutions for large-scale renewable plants to the National Grid, identifying economical/technical solutions per project, coordinating internal and external stakeholders for engineering and feasibility studies, interacting with external stakeholders to define connection agreements, cost analysis and budget control, overall project management, and supporting construction through interconnection works and handover (RtB). Requirements emphasize degree in engineering, 3+ years of energy-sector experience, knowledge of Grid Code, bilingual Italian/English (Spanish a plus), travel willingness, and strong teamwork and reporting abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 3 years experience in the energy sector with strong knowledge of HV and MV electrical substations
- Knowledge of the Italian Grid Code and the technical requirements to connect large-scale renewable plants to the National Grid
- Ability to perform detail-oriented critical reviews of technical documentation
- Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus
- Proactive, self-motivated, result-oriented; able to work without supervision
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Team coordination and project management skills
