Job Summary
Conduct power system studies and grid interconnection modeling using PSS/E and PSCAD, developing and validating models for large-load and data center projects. Execute end-to-end ISO/RTO interconnection processes across ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, NYISO, or WECC while ensuring compliance with NERC MOD/FAC/PRC standards and utility submittal requirements. Automate case processing and post-processing with Python and integrate grid-following and grid-forming inverter models. This role requires 5+ years of experience in power system studies, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and familiarity with advanced degree holders or exceptional relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in power system studies or grid interconnection (3+ with an advanced degree or exceptional, directly-relevant experience)
- Hands-on proficiency with PSS/E and PSCAD, including model development and validation
- Working knowledge of at least one ISO/RTO interconnection process end to end (ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, NYISO, or WECC)
- Familiarity with NERC MOD/FAC/PRC standards and ISO/utility model-submittal requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, power-systems concentration
- M.S. preferred
Desired Qualifications
- PSLF, TARA, ASPEN, or PowerWorld experience
- Grid-following (GFL) and grid-forming (GFM) inverter modeling; user-defined model (UDM) integration
- Python for case automation and post-processing
- Experience representing owners/developers through ISO study cycles
- Large-load / data center interconnection exposure
- EIT or PE on track
