Job Summary
Lead advisor on generator interconnection strategy across multiple ISO/RTO markets, translating regulatory complexity into actionable client guidance. Review interconnection feasibility, system impact, and facility studies; coordinate information exchanges among clients, ISOs, and transmission owners; support interconnection agreement negotiations (LGIA/SGIA); monitor evolving FERC policy and ISO/RTO rule changes (including Order 2023); collaborate with internal power systems engineers on modeling and analysis; contribute to business development and client presentations; mentor junior staff. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, 5+ years of direct ISO/RTO interconnection experience, and strong regulatory/technical acumen.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Policy, or a closely related field; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with ISO/RTO generator interconnection processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of queue procedures, study methodologies, and milestone requirements across at least one major market
- Proven ability to interpret and apply ISO tariffs, interconnection procedures, and FERC orders in a client advisory context
- Technical literacy in power systems sufficient to critically review interconnection study results and collaborate with engineering staff
- Familiarity with FERC Order 2023 and the evolving landscape of large generator interconnection reform
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements concurrently across different ISOs and project stages
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus but not required; certifications in energy regulation or project management are valued
