Job Summary
Grid Connection Specialist responsible for design, modelling and grid connection assessments for wind farms, providing expert advice and recommendations for GE Vernova Onshore Wind. Responsibilities include electrical simulation and modelling of turbine and wind-farm grid connections, grid compliance testing and commissioning plans, translating grid requirements into product specifications, risk assessment and compliance, customer support and issue resolution, early opportunities and bidding support, project and design management, technical reporting and documentation, and collaboration with utilities, subcontractors and stakeholders. Emphasis on steering grid code compliance, supporting newer engineers, and contributing to business development, with opportunities to work with global GE Vernova teams and travel within the APAC region.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the grid connection sector in Australia preferred
- Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering focused on power systems
- Experience with PSSE, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD
- Ability to interpret and apply the National Electricity Regulatory (NER) framework as it pertains to GE technologies and projects
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts
- Experience in power generation projects or within a utility environment
- Professional EPC project engineering and construction experience desirable
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to support competitive project bidding
- Willingness to travel within the APAC region for short durations
