Job Summary
Grid Connection Specialist responsible for design, modelling and grid connection assessments for GE Vernova Onshore Wind projects in Australia and APAC. Key duties include configuring grid electrical simulation models for turbines and wind farms, developing commissioning test plans for grid code compliance, translating grid requirements into product specifications, assessing grid code compliance risks, supporting customers and sales teams, managing project grid connections, and producing high-quality technical reports and connection applications. Requires 7+ years in the grid connection sector in Australia and a tertiary electrical engineering degree with experience in PSSE, DigSilent PowerFactory, and PSCAD, plus strong communication skills. Willingness to travel within the APAC region and collaborate with global teams across time zones. The role includes relocation support and is remote-friendly within Australia. Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering focusing on power systems
- PSCAD experience (essential)
- Power system analysis experience using PSSE, DigSilent PowerFactory
- Experience in grid connection sector (preferably in Australia)
- Strong understanding of National Electricity Regulatory (NER) framework as it pertains to power plant projects
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts
- Experience in EPC project engineering and construction (desirable)
