Job Summary

Conduct grid connection feasibility studies and prepare grid impact assessments for renewable energy, battery storage, and EV infrastructure projects. Support DNO and TSO applications including G99/G100 and Statements of Works while modeling electrical networks to assess capacity, constraints, and reinforcement needs. Interpret network data from National Grid, DSO, and UKPN sources, monitor policy changes, and provide technical updates to stakeholders. Collaborate with internal engineering and project delivery teams to coordinate documentation and deliver strategic input on optimal connection strategies. This role supports the integration of low-carbon technologies into the UK electricity grid within a hybrid work environment offering competitive compensation and training in energy markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of UK electricity networks (DNO/TSO)
  • Experience with grid connection processes, G99 applications, and National Grid ESO data
  • Proficiency in power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, IPSA)
  • Solid understanding of network planning, grid codes, and system balancing
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or similar field
  • Knowledge of BESS, wind, solar, or EV infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with ENA processes and smart grid technologies
  • GIS or network visualisation tools experience
  • Python, Excel VBA, or data analysis scripting
