Welcome each guest with a smile, escort them to their assigned table, and control room flow by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists and enforcing check issue procedures. Assign opening or closing side duties, supervise side work, and ensure completed setups of all stations before departure. Maintain the reservation book, take incoming telephone calls, note reservations and special requests, and remain knowledgeable of all menu items, prices, and general service procedures. Check all tables daily before service to ensure proper settings, assist with bussing tables and taking cocktail orders, and communicate guest requests or concerns to the department manager. Remain visible on the dining room floor, easily accessible to guests, staff, and management, while incorporating safe work practices in job performance.
