Job Summary
Open the door to welcome incoming guests and ensure timely seating while managing the waitlist and communicating seating status updates. Escort guests to tables, notify them of specials, and assist with assembling takeout orders and answering telephones. Support the Front of House Team by bussing tables, delivering food, and refilling drinks without serving alcohol if under 21. Maintain host station cleanliness, stock menus, and respond to customer complaints by escalating issues to the manager. Thank departing guests, solicit feedback on service quality, and express hope for their return.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Superior customer service and hospitality skills
- Knowledgeable of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
- Knowledgeable of BWW food and beverage menus
- Knowledgeable of current marketing promotions and up-coming events
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Skill in time management and organization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to handle money accurately
- Ability to process credit card transactions
- Basic knowledge of Point of Sales systems
- Conflict management skills
- Analytical skills
- High degree of emotional intelligence
- Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in restaurant environment
