Job Summary
Greenskeeper I is responsible for day-to-day care, maintenance, and renovation of the golf course and surrounding grounds. The role operates golf course maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers), adjusts tee markers, repairs ball marks, and tees/fairway divots, rakes and edges bunkers, tops dresses greens and tees, edges cart paths, removes weeds, and gathers debris. Will participate in renovations such as sod laying or removal, grass sprigging, trench excavating, and tree/brush removal, and may perform general course maintenance duties including bathroom cleaning, trash removal, and refilling water coolers. Requires 0–3 years landscaping or golf course maintenance experience, basic equipment operation knowledge, strong attention to detail, ability to operate motorized equipment, and the physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work including lifting up to 60 lbs, walking several miles daily, and working overtime, weekends, and holidays. Work is outdoors in varying weather conditions at locations in Travelers Rest, SC (SC, US) and related nearby area.
Required Qualifications
- 0 – 3 years experience in landscaping or golf course maintenance
- Basic understanding of operating lawn care equipment and its safety procedures
- Ability to operate motorized equipment
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Ability to walk 3-5 miles a day
- Ability to work over time, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work both indoor and outdoor in various weather conditions
