Job Summary
Lead greenhouse operations as Greenhouse General Manager/Head Grower, overseeing production, plant care, and retail aspects while developing and directing a team. Responsibilities include planning and managing day-to-day greenhouse activities (watering, fertilizing, planting, crop scheduling), supervising staff, maintaining retail displays and equipment, monitoring environmental controls (temperature, vents, fans, heating/cooling), scouting for pest/disease issues, managing deliveries and vendor relationships, ordering seeds and supplies, maintaining detailed production records, training staff for customer-focused service, resolving customer/employee issues with management, supporting pricing/inventory/merchandising, and handling register transactions and cash procedures. Must be physically able to work in a retail greenhouse environment, with a schedule roughly 40 hours/week including weekends; willingness to work holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of greenhouse experience
- Strong knowledge of horticulture and plant care
- Proven experience managing a team (this role oversees 10–20 direct reports)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks continuously throughout the shift
- Must be 18 years of age or older
