Job Summary
Class 2 HGV Driver needed for Sainsbury’s Local Deliveries. Responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries to Sainsbury’s local stores and regional distribution centres, delivering caged and palletised goods using tail lift and kerbside methods, ensuring accurate delivery paperwork, collecting empties/returns/waste, conducting vehicle checks, and representing Wincanton & Sainsbury’s with excellent customer service. Maintain compliance with tachograph, driver hours, and transport regulations. Requires valid HGV Class 2 license, Driver CPC, Digital Tachograph card, and a minimum of 6 months Class 2 driving experience; role involves day shifts across weekends/bank holidays and offers a permanent full-time contract with training and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently
- Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays
