Job Summary
Join Greene County YMCA's Summer Camp team as a Camp Counselor, Unit Leader, or Specialty Instructor, responsible for creating positive relationships with children and facilitating their camp experience. All positions require previous childcare experience and certifications including CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention within 30 days of hire. Candidates for Camp Counselors must be at least 16 years old, while Unit Leaders and Specialty Instructors must be at least 18. Knowledge in various recreational activities is essential for leadership roles.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting for Camp Counselors
- Previous experience working with children in camping, recreation, teaching, childcare or physical education for Camp Unit Leaders
- Previous experience working with children in camping, recreation, teaching, childcare or physical education for Camp Specialty Instructors
- NYS Working Papers (Under 18 years old) for Camp Counselors
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date for all positions
- Must be 16 years of age for Camp Counselors
- Must be 18 years of age for Camp Unit Leaders and Camp Specialty Instructors
- Knowledge of crafts, archery, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games for Camp Unit Leaders and Camp Specialty Instructors
