Job Summary
Greek Reviewer/Editor/Certifier to support DOJ Linguistic Support Services (LSS) including translation of documents and multimedia content, transcription, and interpretation; work involves legal, administrative, medical, scientific, financial, and historical material with specialized terminology; strict confidentiality; requires ILR 4 or equivalent, 5+ years experience in the language, U.S. residency in past 5 years, CAT tool proficiency (SDL Trados Studio), and active Public Trust or higher clearance; role is remote with National Capital Region and CONUS locations and travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the required language with superior English and editing
- Qualifying ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests
- Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working with a law enforcement and/or legal department
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Proficient in English and the foreign language vocabularies used in formal, legal, diplomatic, consultative, and casual contexts
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and the foreign language related to government missions and terminology
- Write in native language fluently with professional command of the non-native language
- Translate in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes or omissions
- Preserve tone and register of source language materials
- Abide by relevant code of linguist ethics
- Proficient in using CAT tools, with emphasis on SDL Trados Studio
- Clearance: Active Public Trust or higher security clearance
- Location: Remote / National Capitol Region / Various CONUS Locations
- Travel: Some travel may be required
