Job Summary
The Senior Assistant Golf Course Superintendent collaborates closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to manage all golf course operations, including crew supervision and daily maintenance activities. Responsibilities entail overseeing labor crews, conducting fertilizer and pesticide applications, managing irrigation systems, and ensuring optimal course conditions. The position requires a turf certificate or degree in turf grass management, at least two years of golf course experience, and strong communication skills. Candidates must obtain a CT pesticide applicator license within six months of hire and possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a turf certificate, A.S. or B.S. in turf grass management or related field
- A minimum of two years' golf course experience
- One year of experience as an Assistant Superintendent preferred
- CT pesticide applicator license (to be obtained within 6 months of employment)
Desired Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Strong knowledge of computer-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and a desire to advance in the golf industry
