Great Bay Baking Center Manager

Job Summary

Manage the local Baking Center team through training, skill development, performance evaluation, and annual objective setting while overseeing salary reviews and recruitment for new staff. Lead operative and strategic planning of center activities, including budget responsibility for OPEX and CAPEX, technical investments, and resource allocation. Provide technical support for internal and external customers via troubleshooting, recipe creation, and facility visits, while organizing training seminars and conducting baking trials. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer habits to suggest product range evolutions and participate in regional innovation networks. Collect and report Baking Center activities, customer feedback, and monthly KPIs to line managers and the Regional BC Coordinator. Supervise facility technical conditions, enforce legal provisions, and maintain contacts with suppliers, authorities, and third parties.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, cereal science etc.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with working in leading position in a bakery or a comparable industry
  • Fluent English in writing and speaking

  • managing skills and interest to drive a team on a short term horizon (baking test requests, visit requests, reception requests, ...) and medium term horizon (market observation, product validation & development, new raw material and technology identification, ...)
  • baking experience
  • management including HR, projects, materials and finance
  • ability to operate reporting in accordance with responsibility in these domains
  • customer orientation (representation of Lesaffre's interest in the bakeries and of the bakers in the Lesaffre organization)
  • planning and organization experience regarding events (baking tests, demonstrations, ...), projects and staff while respecting resources, the expected deliverables and deadlines
  • internal and external networking skills
  • communication skills to be comfortable in communicating with multi-disciplinary interlocutors in national and English language
