Job Summary
Lead heavy equipment inspection, repair, and maintenance for gravel trains and related mobile equipment. Responsibilities include diesel/gas engine repair and maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cutting and welding, troubleshooting and diagnosing recurring problems, reading basic schematics/parts diagrams, operating heavy equipment to support maintenance, lubricating and cleaning parts, ordering and inspecting replacement parts, and performing major component replacements (engines, clutches, differentials). Must be able to perform downtime-minimizing diagnostics and lead difficult repair tasks to ensure equipment availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED or equivalent
- mechanical aptitude
- ability to read schematics/parts diagrams
- experience with diesel/gas engines
- welding/metal fabrication skills
