Job Summary
Assess current agency practices and develop a roadmap to digitize paper files into a repository for public access via the Sunrise application. Meet with State staff to determine project scope, advise on audience strategies, and create images for logos and websites. Select colors, images, text style, and layout; present designs for review and incorporate feedback before finalizing. Utilize specialized graphic design software to prepare designs while ensuring coding standards and optimizing web architectures for navigability and accessibility. Available to work from Baton Rouge, LA on a 24+ month contract.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in software development or 2+ years of experience in graphic design
- Experience effectively executing against brand guidelines and maintaining brand standards, including demonstrating considered layout, image composition, typography and color palette
- Experience designing externally facing information and graphics in a visually appealing way
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and animation)
- Available to work from Baton Rouge, LA on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to effectively edit and augment written and visual elements of program content
- Experience translating technical concepts into straightforward visual designs
- Experience aligning web development applications with technical programming
- Familiarity with Craft CMS architecture
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- UX/UI Design competencies
- Application of specialized skills within a government agency environment
