Job Summary
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for a new Guidance Product interface. Interpret design vision into user interfaces, including typography, layout, and image production, while testing appearance and functionality across multiple browsers, networks, and screen sizes. Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and adhere to standards through rigorous reviews. Communicate design concepts and decisions to client stakeholders and team members. This contract role requires 5-10 years of professional UI/UX design experience and proficiency in tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in Python, C/C++, and front-end languages such as jQuery and Bootstrap. The position offers a hybrid schedule with periodic on-site work in Huntsville, within a 100-mile radius.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of professional UI / UX design experience working with software product or consulting companies
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma
- Knowledge of modern HTML/CSS/JS
- Fluency in one or more languages like Python & C/C++
- Experience with front-end development languages such as jQuery and Bootstrap
- Experience creating custom graphics and icons specific to business requirements
- Experience creating graphic data models and graphs
- Ability to assess and improve the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of the product
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
- Experience working with a remote team
- Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, strong collaborative skills, strong written and verbal communication
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with databases SQL databases is a plus
- Understanding of networking concepts (SIP, VoIP, etc.) is a plus
- A portfolio highlighting your UI design projects (if available) is a plus
