Job Summary
Create print and digital materials such as reports, posters, presentations, social graphics, signage, and campaign collateral. Develop concepts, layouts, and designs that reflect the Otipemisiwak Métis Government's branding and storytelling while maintaining visual standards and templates. Prepare files for production, manage multiple projects to meet deadlines, and liaise with vendors to establish budgets and schedules. Collaborate with writers, photographers, and digital team members to ensure aligned messaging and present a professional image to stakeholders. Work in a collaborative environment, participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing strong visual ideas. This role supports communications campaigns, events, and Government-wide initiatives. Candidates must possess strong technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite and experience in both print and digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or in a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a graphic design or visual communications role
- Experience designing for both digital and print platforms
- Submission of a portfolio of design work
- Position will be based in office in Edmonton, Alberta
- Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, as well as flexible schedule of days, evenings, and weekends
- Travel within Alberta and occasional out-of-province travel, with notice
- Reliable transportation and valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License
- Acceptable attainment of a Police Information Check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Canva, Figma, or similar tools
- Experience working in an Indigenous and/or non-profit setting
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people
- An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and Métis culture
