Job Summary
Contribute to the communication, marketing, and branding strategy for the 2027 National Cherry Blossom Festival by creating visual assets, advertisements, signage, and digital invitations. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to understand project objectives, develop PowerPoint presentations, and maintain the Festival's photo gallery. Manage production boards via Monday.com and assist with onsite team roles at in-person events as needed. Available for Fall or Spring semesters, with flexible hours between 10 AM and 5:30 PM and evening availability for the Festival Launch and peak event weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- Recent graduates may also be considered
- Candidates must be studying graphic design or a similar degree
- Provide a portfolio showcasing creativity through brand design, layout, typography, and current trends
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Passion for community engagement, the arts, and/or international friendship
- Strong attention to detail and organized with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Able to work independently and complete multiple projects in a timely manner
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of people in an exciting, fast-paced environment
- Available for both Fall AND Spring semesters
- Interns who can commit to only one semester, either Fall or Spring, are also welcome to apply
- Interns are asked to commit to at least one full semester supporting the Festival
- Must be available for evening availability to execute the Festival Launch event (late October 2026)
- Must be available for evening and weekend availability to execute key Festival weekly programs and events during peak months (March 2027 – April 2027)
- Hours, schedule, and work format (must be primarily onsite with minimal remote option)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in photography/videography
- Adobe Premiere Pro editing
- Experience in Canva
