Job Summary
Grant Writer needed to support Neighborhood Healthcare’s Inland Empire programs by managing all aspects of the grants process. Primary responsibilities include researching funders at local, state, and national levels; generating proposals and supporting documents in response to RFPs; writing and submitting reports and donor communications; incorporating accurate information into grant proposals; building inter-departmental relationships; coordinating with operations and clinical staff to package programs for grant funding; tracking grant activities and funder interactions; analyzing community data to inform proposals; coaching program managers to implement grant-funded programs and prepare progress reports; and ensuring timely grant-related decision making. The role is full-time and primarily remote with California residency required, focusing on grant writing to support Inland Empire initiatives. Qualifications emphasize a bachelor’s degree in public health or related field, grant writing experience in healthcare, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field required; master's degree preferred
- Three years of grant writing experience required; five years of experience preferred
- Experience with grant writing in healthcare organizations supporting medically underserved populations preferred
- Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with foundation and corporate partners highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Applications with ability to develop spreadsheets, diagrams, graphs, presentations, and flow charts
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
