Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of grant funding to maximize income from foundations and government grants for Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Develop strategies to increase grant funding, create plans and timelines for solicitations, and research new opportunities. Establish and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, write and edit grant proposals, and review all submissions before they go out. Generate and manage reporting on the status of grant funding and coordinate closely with the Fund Development team. Work with other department heads to refine the grant process and educate staff. Travel throughout the council as needed. Requires a Bachelor's degree, five years of grant experience, and knowledge of the Girl Scout program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Marketing/Communications or related field or experience commensurate with degree
- Minimum 5 years' experience of successful research, writing and obtaining grants
- Strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking, and relationship building
- Project management skills: ability to prioritize the strategic plan of the council and execute into tangible actions
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
- Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
- Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines, self-starter
- Thorough understanding of local markets
- Commitment to inclusiveness
- Ability to travel throughout council as needed
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices and nonprofit administration
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
