Job Summary
Proactively identify, pursue, and track funding opportunities across institutional and government sources, coordinating strategic analysis and collaborative grant writing processes. Lead the generation of proposal content, including narratives, logic models, and budgets, while managing review, submission, and reflection cycles with internal stakeholders. Maintain effective grant systems and procedures, ensuring smooth transitions to contract management and reporting. Provide regular pipeline reporting and support fundraising campaigns as needed. This role sits at the heart of Djirra's program/service cycle, securing critical funding for culturally safe services for Aboriginal women through a fixed-term, part-time contract.
Required Qualifications
- A Victorian Employees Working with Children's Check card or willing to obtain one
- Willing to obtain a Police Check at Djirra's expense
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Arts, Communications, Community/International Development, Health or related field or commensurate work-related experience
Desired Qualifications
- demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, particularly the impact of family violence on Aboriginal women
- demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal organisations, communities and individuals in culturally safe ways
- experience or knowledge of the First Nations funding and family violence institutional funding context
- proven track record of developing high-quality grant proposals and securing funding from institutional and non-institutional donors
- excellent writer and editor, able to craft clear, concise and persuasive proposals and reports for different audiences
- skilled at facilitating collaborative grant writing processes with multiple stakeholders
- strong research skills and can synthesise information from a range of sources
- understand institutional donor budget requirements and have experience preparing budgets for submission
- experience in program/service design and development in the context of grant proposal writing
- can manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced funding environment, working autonomously and taking initiative to improve processes
- comfortable with MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
- experience with grant proposal software or databases
