Job Summary
Manage a team of billing specialists supporting end-to-end financial functions for government grants and contracts. Oversee financial operations including monitoring staff spending, preparing reports, coordinating accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling general ledger revenue against contract amounts. Ensure fiscal compliance by verifying eligible expenses, assisting with month-end closings, and preparing invoices with financial back-up for agency submission. Serve as a fiscal liaison between agencies and program staff, reviewing contract renewals to calculate financial adjustments, and supporting external audits. Recruit, hire, and train the Billing Team while identifying process improvements to incorporate agency compliance changes. Back up the Assistant Controller on budget maintenance and creation for grant applications.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant experience in financial procedures, and budgeting process related to government grants and contracts
- Three or more years of experience in a position with responsibility for managing or leading others
- Strong knowledge of preparing monthly invoices, accounts receivables, and financial statement reconciliation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks on a frequent basis
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that often requires responding to deadlines with short lead times
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in data analysis
- Proficient in reporting
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
Desired Qualifications
- BA degree preferred
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
