Job Summary
Facilitate budget reviews for proposal submissions and reconcile expenditures with grant budgets. Assign account and project codes to incoming grants, encumber and draw down funds, and approve all budget transfers while comparing expense and time & effort submissions. Monitor time & effort reporting, respond to Principal Investigator questions on reconciliation, and notify the Director of Grants on current expenses. Maintain a database recording grant expenses and available funds, ensure carryover balances are properly recorded, and perform all necessary financial accounting for grant closeout. Support training of PIs in grant compliance as needed. This role reports to the VPFO/CFO and may include supervising work-study students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Accounting education or experience
- budget management work
- 3+ years of relevant grants and contracts experience
- Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization
- Vision, commitment, and experience in achieving goals and pursuing excellence
- Must be an experienced user with Microsoft Word and Excel, with advanced database skills
- Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English
