Job Summary
Manage grant-related activities for the Department of Sociology, including identifying funding opportunities, assisting in proposal preparation and submission, developing budgets, researching guidelines, and fulfilling reporting requirements. Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Center for Advanced Social Science Research (CASSR) and the Social Science Research Hub (SSRH). Oversee administrative duties such as website management, event organization, and outreach while collaborating with University employees and the Office of Sponsored Programs on principal accountabilities and on-demand tasks. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience in grant budget development or writing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years Relevant experience including grant budget development/grant writing, processing federal grants or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent writing, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Demonstrated success in identifying and researching funding opportunities
- Experience developing and managing budgets
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals
- Knowledge of standard office software
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years Prior experience in an academic or research environment
- Familiarity with pre and post award grant process
- Proven, verifiable track record of having increased grant portfolios in prior positions
- General knowledge of social sciences and how projects in this field work
