Job Summary
Director of Research Administration for Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) leading the EMS Research Office. Oversees full lifecycle externally funded awards (pre-award, post-award, compliance) across federal, state, foundation, and industrial sponsors; serves as principal liaison with EMS leadership, central offices, and external sponsors; directs service standards, workflows, and staffing for a high-performing team of 11 professionals; analyzes proposal activity, expenditures, sponsor trends, and portfolio growth; develops metrics, dashboards, and briefing materials; ensures compliance with sponsor requirements and university policies; supports operational excellence and risk mitigation while advancing College research priorities. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience, and is eligible for remote or hybrid work within the United States. The position emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and process improvement within a large research administration environment.
