Job Summary
Manage a portfolio of grants and contracts for clinical research within Duke University School of Medicine, handling both pre-award and post-award financial activities. Responsibilities include developing budgets and budget justifications, submitting grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university guidelines, reconciling budgets, generating complex budget reports, and advising faculty/PI on administrative requirements. The role emphasizes collaboration with Principal Investigators and study teams, maintaining financial records, and applying federal and university rules to grant management. Work arrangement is Hybrid in North Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; research administration or grants management experience preferred
- Experience/Training: RAA training and related certifications preferred; ability to complete required trainings within specified timelines
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and/or contract activity
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and financial reporting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with study personnel, PIs, sponsors, and leadership
- Experience with grants and contracts processes (pre-award and post-award)
- Experience with or knowledge of systems like SPS, R3, grants.duke and SES
