Job Summary

Grant Administrator II in DGIM at Mass General Brigham is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of research grants for a portfolio of investigators, including proposal development, submission, award management, financial reporting, and compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines. The role entails budgeting, budget justifications, and materials for financial reporting; reviewing proposals for sponsor requirements; monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost allowability; using DGIM/Workday systems to manage workflows; serving as primary liaison between investigators, research management, sponsors, and subaward sites; and providing post-award support for reporting and compliance. The position requires collaboration across investigators and administrative staff, familiarity with NIH/NSF/DoD/DOE funding streams, and experience with common grant management tools. Availability to work in-person two days per week with a hybrid arrangement in Boston, MA. EEO statements and compensation information are included in the posting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree and/or CRA (Certified Research Administrator) a plus
  • 2-3+ years of experience in research administration
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations (NIH, NSF, DoD, DOE, etc.) and Uniform Guidance
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe; willingness to learn new applications and systems as needed
  • Proficiency with common grant management systems (e.g., eRA Commons, Research.gov, ASSIST, SciENcv, Proposal Central)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to create accurate and compliant budgets
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Positive customer-service orientation, professional manner, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make independent judgments and resolve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, reprioritizing as needed
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and openness to change
